ESPN
I started in October 2025 as a Contract Designer I for ESPN! I currently work in Show Production, producing graphics for live television shows like SportsCenter and Get Up. This creative team at ESPN is incredibly kind, knowledgable and resourceful. Thrilled to be a part of this sports-loving creative crew.
Custom Matchup.
SportsCenter is known for its strong use of team branding and 45 degree angled objects. I wanted to create a bad ass matchup face-off 16x9 that evoked the action for premier head to head games. This one was well received!
East Wall 6 pk’s.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite monitors to design for. This massive screen covers an entire wall in Studio X in the Bristol Studios for the SC:AM and 2 PM show. Utilizing some 3D text and precisely placed schematics here.
Verticals.
Verticals or ‘Verts’ are a neat size to design for as well. Basically flip a TV screen 90 degrees and you have the size you’re looking for. Design elements have to be even more appropriate to the tall shape when working with a vert request. Repeat schematic elements, clever team colors, placements and bold text help verts thrive.
East Wall 2 pk’s.
Producers/Directors will typically ask for 3 of these “2 pk’s” which will be placed together (2x3 = 6 pk = full wall graphic) so that they can highlight two big photos from the previous night's game & headline the matchup with a short phrase. The 2 packs can be challenging with a smaller vertical space; these 3 above showcase the success with the sizing.
First Live Graphic
This Thursday Night Football graphic is my first official custom graphic to hit live television! It debuted on SportsCenter (10.30.25). This one is sized to meet the East Wall 6-pack screen size.
Practice Graphics.
These are referred to as “HPG" graphics, in a size most would be familiar with (standard 16x9 tv format). We’ve been tasked to created over 100 graphics before going live.
Practice Graphics.
Additional HPG’s! Everything I share here is my original artwork outside of ‘schematics’ or pieces of branding in the background (i.e. smaller patterned pieces of design). You’re encouraged to use other designers’ templates, but I wanted to create my own as well.
Verts Practice.
These are practice graphics of what ESPN calls ‘verts’. Essentially it’s a monitor tv screen that is flipped vertically for the shows.
